Girls Camp

Girls camp was a blast this year. It's taken a few days for me to recover from the lack of sleep and for my maturity level to return. Our stake had a Survivor Night. Our ward dressed up in green, as we were the Emeralds.

The Beehive

Jacob and I came home one day night to a beehive forming in front of our window. Here is the picture we took the night we discovered them. Then next night the bulb was bigger. After the HOA got rid of the beehive, bees were buzzing around for a few more days looking for their lost home.

Homemade Butter

I made butter for the first time this week! I used raw organic milk straight from a friend's cow and used the cream that settled on the top. I whipped it with my electric hand mixer until the buttermilk separated from the butter. It was the best butter I've ever tasted! I used the buttermilk to make blender pancakes the next morning, which turned out wonderful. I researched raw milk and it's benefits and can't see myself ever going back to using pasteurized milk. I'm going to start making cheese too!

The open fire

Jacob and I went to Bulldog Canyon with some other couples on Friday night. We had hot dogs and smores. Jacob was very creative and made a little roaster with some branches he found.
After his hot dog was cooked it fell into the coals as his racket burned up. It was still good.

My first Pizza!

I tried to make homemade pizza for the first time a few weeks ago. I must say, I impressed myself with how amazing it turned out. We ate in silence as the entire pizza vanished in minutes. Jacob didn't know I could make something so heavenly. Since I didn't follow a recipe I haven't been able to remake it nearly as good : (

The joys of Arizona

All of my brothers and sisters came to Arizona with their kids for Christmas. Heather and I took my younger sister Hope to Last Chance with us. On the way back she got excited about the sunset. She has been living in Texas going to school and said that they don't have awesome sunsets like we have here. A few days later, Heather and I spotted this great view from our front door.
